あくせく働く

「父は年中あくせく働いています」
My father keeps his nose to the grindstone all the year around.

イディオム keep one's nose to the grindstone（砥石に鼻をくっつけている→）「一生懸命働く」

悪態をつく

「子供は母親に向かって「ばか！」「とんま！」と悪態をついた」
The kid called his mother names, shouting things like "You idiot!" and "Blockhead!"

発想「悪態」→「憎まれ口」「悪口」

イディオム call somebody names「（人の）悪口を言う」

あごで使う

「あの店の主人は店員をあごで使う」
The shopkeeper leads the clerks by the nose.

発想「あごで使う」→「（高慢な態度で）意のままに人を使う」

イディオム lead somebody by the nose（人の鼻面をとって引き回す→）「（人）を自分の思いのままに扱う」

あこがれの的

「彼女は学生時代ぼくらのあこがれの的だった」
All the fellows had a crush on her when we were in school.

イディオム have a crush on「（一時的に）（人）に熱を上げる、夢中になる」

朝めし前

「あんな運転免許試験は朝めし前だったよ」
That driving test was (as) easy as pie.

That driving test was a piece of cake.

イディオム be (as) easy as pie（パイを作るのと同じくらい簡単な→）「とてもたやすい」 a piece of cake（ケーキ1切れを食べるようなこと→）「楽しく容易にできること」

あざ笑う

「同僚たちは彼の無知を心の中であざ笑った」
His colleagues laughed up their sleeves at his ignorance.

イディオム laugh up one's sleeve（顔をそで口に隠して笑う→）「こっそりあざ笑う」
